Hinge gives you a handful of levers: a Boost, the always-on feature in HingeX, Priority Likes, Roses and the Top Photo setting. Hinge's own advice for more Likes costs nothing. Loosen your preferences a little, add a fresh photo or prompt answer, and stay active by sending Likes. Visibility only helps a page that deserves it, so the order matters.
Boost and Superboost
A Boost makes your page more visible to potential matches for one hour. A Superboost keeps you in the spotlight for 24 hours. Other users are not told you are being Boosted.
You start a Boost from the Likes You screen by tapping the Boost button, and you can buy one there if you do not have one. Use it when you can answer the likes it brings. A Boost on a night you are busy buys you likes you will not reply to.
The always-on version
HingeX includes a feature called Get Seen by More Daters. Hinge describes it as a light version of Boost that keeps your page more visible in Discover for as long as the subscription is active. It does not override other daters' preferences, so it widens your reach without ignoring who a woman said she wanted to see.
Compare that with a Boost. A Boost is a strong push for an hour. This is a mild push all the time. Decide which fits how you actually use the app.
Priority Likes and Compatible People
HingeX also includes Priority Likes. They keep the Likes you send toward the top of the other person's Likes You list for seven days. That helps a Like get opened, but it still has to win on its comment and on your page.
HingeX also has See Compatible People Sooner, which moves profiles you are likely to prefer to the top of your own Discover feed. That is about what you see, not about who sees you, so it does not belong in a visibility plan. Do not count it as one.
Roses
A Rose places your Like at the top of the other person's Likes You screen. Every user gets a free Rose each week, and it does not accumulate. More can be bought.
Because the free one expires if you skip it, spend it on someone you actually want to meet. A Rose to a woman who is clearly out of your range or clearly not your type wastes the one visibility lever Hinge hands every user each week.
Top Photo
Top Photo is a setting that uses a machine learning model to test your photos and put the one most likely to get a Like first. It works on the photo that every woman sees before she reads a word.
Leave it on if you are unsure which of your photos works best. If you are confident in your lead photo, you can turn it off and choose the order yourself.
What Hinge says to do first
Hinge's own advice for getting more Likes is simple. Loosen your preferences slightly, add a new photo or prompt answer, and stay active by sending Likes. All three are free. The first widens the number of women who can see you. The second gives the women who find you something to react to. The third keeps you in the rotation.
Notice what is missing from that list: a purchase. Hinge's own advice points to changes in your page and your habits.
What to fix before you pay
a dating coach's view of online dating is that it is a numbers game with a chain of ratios, and that most men fix the wrong number. More visibility raises the first number in the chain, the count of women who see you. It does nothing for the later ones: how many of them Like you back, reply to you, give you a number and show up for a date.
If you push your page in front of more women and the same lead photo and the same tired answers meet them, you get a bigger pile of no. So before you spend on a Boost or a subscription, look at your first photo and your three prompt answers as a stranger would. Fix the weakest one. Then use the visibility tools to put the improved page in front of more people.
That order is the whole strategy. A better page makes every tool you buy work harder, and a worse one makes every tool a waste.
