Yes, and they are a paid feature. CMB Premium subscribers can use Read Receipts in Chats, so they know when their messages have been read. CMB Platinum includes everything in Premium, so Platinum subscribers get them too. The help pages list Read Receipts among the paid subscription features and do not list it as something free members get. The App Store listing also names it as a Premium perk.
What the help pages say, and what they leave out
The description is short. A subscriber knows when a message has been read. That is all the app says about it.
The help pages describe the feature from the subscriber's side. They do not say what the woman on the other end sees, so do not assume anything about it. Treat her view as unknown, and do not write messages as if she can tell you are watching.
Free, Premium and Platinum
The help pages do not list Read Receipts for free members, so plan on a free account showing you nothing about whether she opened a message. Premium adds Read Receipts, and Platinum includes them because it contains everything Premium has.
That is the whole difference. You do not buy the feature on its own. It comes with the subscription.
What a read message actually tells you
Here is the useful fact. A read message tells you that she saw it. It does not tell you what she thinks.
A woman can read your message on her lunch break, mean to answer, and then forget for two days. She can read it at a bad moment and plan to answer it properly later. She can also read it and decide she is not interested. The receipt looks the same in all three cases, so a man who reads meaning into it is guessing.
Do not spend your attention on the receipt
The worst use of Read Receipts is checking them over and over. A man stares at the screen, sees that a message was read twenty minutes ago, and starts to feel rejected. Then he sends a second message to find out what is wrong.
a dating coach has a rule for this in his texting laws: avoid double texting. A second message that comes right after the first looks needy, and it asks her a question she has not yet had time to answer. He also tells men not to respond instantly every time, because the man who answers in seconds while she answers in hours is the one who looks like he is waiting by the phone. A receipt makes both of those temptations stronger.
A better signal than the dot
You can see how interested a woman is without paying for anything. A woman who is interested replies within a few hours, asks you a question back, and suggests something herself. A woman who is not sends short answers a day apart.
a dating coach adds a point from his texting rules. Write when she can actually answer, so a message lands on a quiet evening and not in the middle of her workday. If she is likely to see it and reply, you will not be stuck wondering about a receipt.
What to do with a read message and no reply
Do nothing for a day. Then send one light message that needs no answer, built around something specific she mentioned, and leave it there. If she is interested, she will reply. If she does not reply to that either, move your effort to the women who are answering.
The app gives you a better signal anyway. A woman who is interested replies, asks you a question back, and agrees to a plan. Count those things and ignore the dot.
Is it worth paying for?
Almost never on its own. Read Receipts do not get you a single extra match, and they do not make anyone reply. They show you something about messages you already sent.
If you are already considering Premium for other reasons, such as seeing everyone who liked you, then having Read Receipts is fine. Just turn off the habit of looking at them. Put your time into a first message that picks up one real detail from her page, and into suggesting a drink once she answers well. The man who gets dates on this app is the one who makes a plan, and a man with a plan has no use for a dot.
