Yes, on your profile. The photos you upload are what she sees, and that is the main way to share anything about yourself on Hinge. Chat does not list a way to send an image, and Hinge says you can no longer link your Instagram feed because of a change from Meta. Voice Notes are the other way to give a match more of you.

The three ways she sees you

Think of your options as three.

The first is your page. The photos you upload are the ones every woman in Discover can see, and they decide whether she likes you.

The second is chat. Hinge's help article on matching and chatting lists sending a message, sending an emoji and liking a message from the other person. It also lets you reply to a specific message with a quoted preview. An image is not on that list.

The third is Voice Notes. Once you have matched, you can record audio and send it. Hinge removed its Voice and Video Calling feature and says you can still connect through Voice Notes or messaging.

Most of the work happens in the first. By the time you can use the other two, she has already decided to talk to you.

Hinge says that because of a change from Meta, you can no longer link your Instagram feed. It adds that the change does not affect the other photos you have uploaded to Hinge.

For men who relied on the link, the proof of your life now has to come from the photos you choose. That is a smaller loss than it sounds. A feed holds years of pictures taken for other reasons, some by other people. Three or four photos picked for her do the job better, and nobody can scroll back to the bad year.

What you cannot share

Hinge's Prohibited Content page is clear. Nudity and sexually explicit images are not allowed. That covers photos, videos and written responses, on your profile or in chats.

Keep it simple. Nothing explicit, in any place, ever. It breaks the rules, and it does not attract the kind of woman you are hoping to meet.

Choose photos that tell her something

Because the profile is where sharing happens, pick the photos on purpose.

a dating coach's list of what a strong set shows is short. Photos where you look your physical best. Photos where you look high value and popular. Photos where it looks like you have an interesting life. A set with all three tells her you are attractive, wanted and busy with things worth hearing about.

Lead with a clear shot of your face in good light. Follow it with photos of you doing something, near people who look glad you are there. Cut anything blurry, dark or taken to hide a flaw. If you cannot tell which are strongest, show the set to a friend who has no reason to flatter you.

Each photo should answer a different question about you. Where do you go? Who do you spend time with? What do you do on a Saturday? Five photos that answer the same question tell her less than three that answer three.

Men assume the fix for a quiet profile is more pictures. It is usually better ones.

Five photos from the same afternoon read as one afternoon. A weak photo next to strong ones pulls the strong ones down with it. Each addition should earn its place, and if it does not, leave it out.

My general rule for dating apps is to test and tweak. Swap one photo, give it a few ordinary weeks, and watch what happens to your likes and matches. Keep what moves the numbers and drop what does not.

Let your prompt answers carry the rest

A photo cannot say everything, and the rest belongs in your prompt answers.

Take the kind of photo you wish you could send in chat and describe it in one line instead. "That is the hill I walked up to get that view" gives her something to answer. It also gets the date closer, because it points at a real place you could take her.

My examples of weak answers are the ones that are only facts. A list of hobbies gives her nothing to react to. A small story gives her a reason to write back. The same rule holds for a comment you leave on her page.

When she wants to see more

If she asks for more of you after you match, you have two good choices on Hinge. Send a Voice Note, which gives her your voice and your humor. Or move to text once the conversation is warm, where a casual photo of something you did that week is fair game. My texting rules list photos, memes and voice messages among the ordinary tools of a text conversation.

Keep it light and keep it yours. A recent, ordinary picture does more than a polished one, because it matches what she will see across the table.

The short answer

You can share photos on Hinge by uploading them to your profile. Chat does not list image sending, the Instagram link is gone, and Voice Notes are the way to share more of yourself after you match.

Keep everything explicit out, and put your effort into three or four photos that show your face, your friends and your life.
