No. They come from opposite directions. A Top Pick is chosen for you by Tinder's algorithm. A Super Like is something a person chooses to send, by tapping the blue star while looking at someone's card. TechCrunch reported that Top Picks come from profile information and your swiping behavior, and that they refresh every 24 hours. So a Top Pick says nothing about whether she has noticed you.
Who does the choosing
A Top Pick is Tinder's decision. TechCrunch reported that the algorithm picks a limited daily set for you. It uses details such as education, type of job, hobbies and interests, together with your past swiping. You did not ask for them and she did not send them.
A Super Like is a woman's own decision, or yours if you are the one sending. Tinder's help center says that while viewing a profile, you tap the blue star icon to send one. It is a deliberate act by a person, and it takes one tap each time.
That difference is the whole answer. One is the app guessing at taste, and the other is a person saying something.
How you tell a Super Like when you receive one
A Super Like you receive appears in your card stack as a profile with a bright blue star icon. Tinder says it may not be the first card you see, so it can sit a few cards back.
Tinder Gold and Tinder Platinum subscribers can also spot it in the Likes You grid. If you do not subscribe, you rely on the star in your stack.
Tinder also says a Super Like may not show up because it was sent by mistake or undone with Rewind. So the star is a good sign, not a perfect one. A woman may have tapped it by accident and taken it back.
What a Top Pick does and does not tell you
It tells you that Tinder thinks the two of you fit on the inputs it uses. That can be useful, since it puts a woman in front of you whom you might have scrolled past.
It does not tell you that she liked you first, that she has seen you, or that she is interested. Treat it as a suggestion. If you like her, that is when your interest begins, not hers.
A Super Like is the stronger signal of the two, because someone chose to send it. Even then, it proves one tap, and you still need to look at her page before you answer.
How people get Super Likes
Super Likes are a limited supply. You can buy them in packages, under your profile icon, then Settings, then Get Super Likes. Tinder Gold and Tinder Platinum subscribers get free weekly Super Likes, which expire if they are not used.
Top Picks are different. They arrive on their own each day, and Tinder Gold users can buy more in packs. You do not spend one to receive the other.
A Super Like uses up one from a limited supply, so the woman who sent it chose you over everyone else she could have spent it on. That is why it carries more weight than a Top Pick, even though neither one ensures a match.
Priority Likes is a third thing
Men sometimes mix in a third feature. Priority Likes is a Tinder Platinum feature that helps Likes and Super Likes get seen faster than Likes from people who do not subscribe. Tinder says it does not promise they will be seen.
That is a speed feature for the ones you send. It has nothing to do with the Top Picks Tinder picks for you, and it does not turn an ordinary Like into a Super Like.
What to do with each
Treat a Top Pick like any card. Look through her pictures and what she wrote, and decide whether you want to match. a dating coach's view is that liking everyone teaches the app nothing about you and makes you look less selective, so do not like a Top Pick just because Tinder served it.
Treat a Super Like as a reason to look closer, not a reason to say yes. If you would like her anyway, you now know she is interested, and you can write fast while that is still true. A first line about something specific on her page works better than thanking her for the star.
If you would not have liked her, the Super Like does not change that. Passing is allowed.
One more difference worth knowing
A set of Top Picks refreshes with the day, so there is no reason to sit on one. A Super Like loses its value the longer it goes unanswered. Both reward the man who looks properly and replies the same day, whichever way the card reached him.
