Most of the time it is a login problem, not a broken site. Christian Mingle says most failed logins have one of two causes. You signed in a different way than you registered, such as email, Facebook, Apple or Gmail. Or your login code has gone stale. Sign in the way you signed up, ask for a fresh code, and check your Spam folder. If the screen says your account is blocked, that is a separate problem with a separate fix.

Sign in the way you registered

Christian Mingle lets you register with email, Facebook, Google or Apple. Each method makes its own login. A man who signed up with his email on a Sunday and taps the Facebook button on Thursday has switched methods, and the site may not recognize him.

Think back to the day you joined. Which button did you press? Try that one first. If you cannot remember, try each method once, slowly, rather than hammering the same one five times. Repeated failed attempts mostly make you more annoyed, and they do not help.

When the login code never arrives

Some sign-ins send a code to your email. If it does not show up, look in your Spam or Junk folder before you do anything else. Then mark Christian Mingle as a trusted sender so the next code lands in your inbox.

A code also goes stale. If you asked for one, got distracted, and typed it in twenty minutes later, ask for a new one and use that. Always use the newest code in your inbox, since an older one can fail.

When the website will not load

If the site will not log you in or will not finish loading, the fix is in your browser. Update the browser, then clear your cache and cookies, then reload the page and try again.

That sounds like advice from a help desk, because it is. It works because a browser holds old copies of the pages it has seen, and an old copy can fight a login screen that has changed since your last visit. Trying a different browser is a quick way to find out whether the problem is the site or your setup.

When the app crashes or hangs

For an app that crashes, stalls or will not load, Christian Mingle lists the same short sequence you would use for any phone app:

  • Check your internet connection
  • Update the app
  • Restart your phone
  • Free up storage space
  • Uninstall the app and install it again

Do them in that order, and test the app after each one. Men skip straight to reinstalling, which is the slowest step, and it often turns out the phone was simply out of storage.

Turn off your VPN

A VPN can interfere with the site. It can also make you look as if you are somewhere Christian Mingle does not operate, and that can trigger a block, so a login problem can turn into a worse one.

Christian Mingle is available only in the United States, Canada, Australia and the outlying U.S. territories. If you are traveling, or if your phone routes your traffic through another country for work, expect trouble. Switch the VPN off, close the app, reopen it and sign in again.

A blocked account is a different problem

If the message on the screen says your account is blocked, stop troubleshooting your browser. A block comes from safety, security or location rules, and clearing your cookies will not remove it. The website's blocked screen may show a Verify my identity button if your account qualifies. Otherwise you contact Customer Support from your account email and ask what happened.

If none of it works

Some problems are not yours to fix. If you have tried the sign-in method, a fresh code, your browser, the phone steps and the VPN, contact Customer Support from your account email. Tell them which device you use, whether the trouble is on the website or in the app, and what you already tried, in that order. A message with those facts gets a faster answer than one that says only that the site is broken.

Once it works, message your matches

A man who spends forty minutes fixing a login should not spend the next forty minutes scrolling. Open the site, check who it recommended, and send one or two messages that mention something specific from her page. a dating coach's advice on any app is to treat the work as a chain: a woman likes you, she answers your first message, and you get to a plan. You only need one link in that chain to move tonight.

Then do the thing most men put off. When a conversation is going well after a few exchanges, suggest coffee or a walk and give a day. An app that works fine and never leads to a date has still not worked for you.
