A match disappears from your Badoo chats when she unmatches you, when her account is deleted, deactivated or suspended, or when she snoozes or hides herself with Premium. Changing your own gender identity setting also removes matches made under the old setting. Once a match has ended, Badoo support cannot bring it back.

The reasons a match disappears

Badoo lists a handful of causes, and only one of them is her decision about you.

  • She unmatched you. She chose to end the match.
  • Her account is gone. She deleted or deactivated it.
  • Her account was suspended. Badoo took action against it.
  • She snoozed or hid herself. With Premium, a member can snooze or hide her account, and the match can vanish from your list when she does.
  • You changed your gender identity setting. Matches made under your old setting are removed when you change it.

From your side, most of these look exactly the same. One moment the conversation is there, the next it is gone.

Support cannot bring it back

Once a match has ended, it has ended. Badoo support cannot restore a match that has disappeared, whatever the reason was.

The conversation goes with it. Whatever you and she had written to each other disappears from your list along with the match, which is one more reason to move a good chat off the app early.

Writing in to ask is wasted effort. If she comes back to the app and you come across each other again, that is a fresh start, not a restored conversation.

Do not read it as a verdict on you

It is natural to assume she unmatched you. Often she did not.

Deleted accounts, suspended accounts and snoozed accounts all look the same as an unmatch from where you sit. Plenty of women delete the app after a few dates with someone, take a break for a month, or get tired of it and leave. None of that has anything to do with you. A suspension is Badoo acting on her account. A snooze is her taking a break from the whole app, not from you.

And if she did unmatch you, that is still one woman's choice about one conversation. Do not go looking for her on other apps or social media to ask why. That turns a disappearing match into an uncomfortable experience for her, and it never gets you the date.

Get off the app in a few messages

The best protection against a disappearing match is not leaving it on the app for long.

If your matches vanish often

One disappearing match means nothing. Many of them, especially right after you send your first message, are worth a look.

Start with the boring check. Did you change your gender identity setting recently? If so, that alone explains a batch of missing matches.
