Hily likes refresh the next day. Hily's help center says daters on the free version have a daily limit, and that if you do not upgrade you wait until your likes refresh tomorrow. It does not give a clock time for the refresh, so any specific hour you read on a forum is a guess. Hily says Premium removes the limit.
What you see when you run out
When you hit the limit on the free version, Hily offers you an upgrade to Premium to remove the limits. Tap past that, and you are done liking for the day.
You can still do plenty. You can browse Finder, read pages, and chat with the women you have already matched with. Only the like button stops.
The refresh is a day, not an hour
Hily's help center says likes refresh the next day, and it gives no hour. That is worth taking at face value. If you ran out at nine in the evening, you may find them back the next morning, and you can expect them at some point tomorrow.
The practical lesson is to stop checking. A man who opens the app every hour to see if likes are back is spending the time he could spend on women who already like him.
Rewards do not pile up
Hily has a few features that refresh on their own schedule. The Daily Reward is a free fortune wheel that appears once a day when you log in and gives extra features.
Rewards that come with a Hily subscription do not stack. They refresh every day, and features you did not use one day expire and do not carry over. That makes a daily habit worth more than a long break: open the app, spend what you have, and let the rest go.
If you subscribe and use consumable features such as Boosts, you can top them up by buying more when you run out before the subscription renews. That is separate from the daily likes, so keep the two apart when you count what you have.
Discover refreshes too
The Discover tab shows profiles Hily thinks you will like, based on what you are looking for and your interests. Hily says it refreshes those every day so there is always someone new to look at.
So two things turn over on a daily rhythm: your likes, and the people Discover puts in front of you. Neither is a reason to rush. A woman who is right for you tends to still be there tomorrow.
Make fewer likes do more
a dating coach's view of the dating apps is that they reward a man who is selective and punish one who likes everyone. His clearest example is from Tinder, where he says the algorithm punishes a man for swiping right on all of them, so do not assume Hily works the same way. The lesson is simply that a daily limit is a prompt to choose better.
Ask a plain question before each like: would I be glad if she liked me back, and would I write to her tonight? If yes, spend the like. If you shrug, do not. A man who likes ten women he wants will often do better than a man who likes fifty he barely looked at.
When you do match, use the opening message well. My advice is to read her page for something unusual, comment on it with a bit of a tease, and keep it short. He also says it is better to comment on something she wrote than on a photo, because it looks more genuine and less shallow.
Should you pay to skip the wait
Look at why you run out before you spend money. If you run out because you like every woman who appears, a subscription pays for the habit that is hurting you. If your area is busy with women you truly want, and you hit the limit with real choices left on the table, removing the cap can make sense.
Treat it as a test. Subscribe for a short stretch, count your matches and the chats that reach a plan, and compare with the free version. Keep it only if the numbers are better.
