Pure is a dating app built around a personal ad. You post an ad saying what experience you want, and only then does the feed of other members' ads appear. Matching works by likes. Chats expire after 24 hours unless both people agree to turn the timer off. Pure describes itself as open and honest, for people who are clear about their intentions and boundaries. It behaves very differently from an app that opens on a stack of photos.
It starts with an ad, not a gallery
Everything on Pure starts with the ad you post. Until you have written one, the feed is closed to you.
That changes what a woman reads first. On most dating apps she meets a photo, then a short bio. On Pure she meets a sentence or two about what you are after. Other members do not see your email or your real name. They see the ad.
So the ad is the product. A man who writes a lazy line such as looking for something fun is competing with every other man who wrote the same thing. A man who says what he wants and one concrete thing about his week has already beaten most of them.
Likes make the matches
Matching on Pure runs on likes. You like an ad you want to talk to, and a woman does the same with yours. When both of you have liked, you can chat.
That makes the ad's first line more important than anything underneath it. A woman scrolling a feed decides in a second. Put the specific thing first, and leave out any filler about being easy to talk to.
Chats run on a timer
Pure chats expire after 24 hours unless both people agree to turn the timer off. This is the feature that changes how a man should behave.
On an app without a timer, you can leave a conversation for three days and pick it up again. Here, a slow reply can end the conversation by itself. Answer the day she writes. Keep your messages short, ask something she can answer in a line, and if the chat is going well, suggest a plan or ask for her number before the clock runs out.
a dating coach's rule for every app is that messaging exists to get you off the app and onto a date. A timer simply makes that rule non-negotiable. Do not spend the 24 hours on a long interview.
Photos and screenshots
Pure says photos self-destruct right after being seen, and that you are notified if someone takes a screenshot.
Take that at face value and plan around it. Do not send anything you would be unhappy to see passed around, because a feature that notifies you of a screenshot does not stop one being taken. Use the same standard you would for any app: send nothing a woman has not asked for, and nothing you would not say to her face.
Verification and where you can look
Photo verification on Pure is optional, takes under 30 seconds and needs no ID. If you want women to trust the man behind the ad, do it. A verified man looks more real, and it costs you half a minute.
Pure also lets you check any city worldwide, not only your own. If you are travelling for work, you can look at who is on the app there before you arrive and plan a drink or two around your schedule.
If you want dating apps like Pure
Men who ask for more dating apps like Pure usually want one of three things: ads before photos, intentions stated up front, or conversations that do not drag on. Decide which one you are after, because they are different features.
Many of the mainstream apps open on photos and a profile, and Pure's choices cut the other way. a dating coach's advice is to try several apps and keep the ones where you succeed, because different apps suit different men and different cities.
If Pure's pace suits you, stay on it. If the timer feels like pressure, you will probably do better on an app with no clock.
Your first week on Pure
Write the ad before you open the feed, and read it aloud. Say what you want in one plain sentence and add one detail about your life. Do the optional verification. Then spend a short, fixed time on the app each day, around half an hour, and answer women the day they reply.
Judge Pure after a week of that, not after one evening.
