What Is the Profile Hub on Hinge?

The Profile Hub is the screen that opens when you tap your profile photo in the lower right corner of the Hinge app. It shows how many Boosts and Roses you have available, with the number in the upper right of each icon. It is also where you check your Signals status: under Get More, tap Check Your Signals.

Look at the row of icons along the bottom of the app. Your own photo sits in the lower right corner. Tap it and the Profile Hub opens.

Think of it as the back office of your Hinge account. Discover and your Likes You screen face outward, toward the women you might meet. The hub faces inward, toward your own page and what you have to spend.

The hub has one icon for your Boosts and one for your Roses. The small number in the upper right corner of each icon is how many you have available right now.

Roses are Hinge's way of telling someone you really like her page. You send one from Discover or Standouts instead of a regular like, and Hinge says Roses appear at the top of her Likes You screen, which makes you hard to miss.

A few details about Roses are worth knowing. Hinge gives members free Roses on a regular schedule, but free ones do not pile up, so an unused free Rose is simply lost. Roses you buy do not expire until you use them. When you have used up everything you have, you can tap the Rose icon to buy more. You can also see your count every time you send a like, so you do not have to come back to the hub to check.

Signals is a badge Hinge can show next to a dater's name when their recent activity reflects thoughtful participation. To see where you stand, open the hub, look under Get More, and tap Check Your Signals.

That opens your Signals hub. It tells you whether your badge is active and explains the kinds of activity that decide eligibility. Hinge says the badge cannot be bought.

The requirements are worth reading closely, because they describe good habits. You need a complete page, an account in good standing and Selfie Verification, and the badge does not appear during your first week. On top of that, Hinge looks for a mix of habits. One is reading a page properly before you like it. Others are adding comments to your likes and reviewing the likes you get. Messaging your matches and confirming when you went on a date count too.

The hub is also the doorway to changing your page. Tap the Pencil Icon next to your profile photo and you are in the editor, where you can swap photos, rewrite prompt answers and update your details.

From the editor, tap View at the top of the screen to see your page the way other members do. That preview is worth checking every time you change something. What looks fine in the editor can read very differently as a finished page.

Each number on the hub is a small report on how you are using the app.

A Signals badge that is not active usually means one of those habits has slipped. Maybe you are liking without reading, or leaving incoming likes unanswered. Those habits matter for more than a badge. When a dating coach messages a new match, his first step is to scroll through her page looking for something unusual to comment on. It is the same close reading Hinge rewards when it looks for daters who read a page before they like it.

A pile of unused Roses tells you something too. A Rose is only worth sending with a comment attached, and Hinge itself calls adding a comment an excellent idea. A Rose on its own says you like her. A Rose with one sharp line about her prompt gives her something to answer.

Open the hub once a week and run through three things.

First, check your Signals status and, if it has lapsed, work out which habit dropped. Second, look at your Roses and use the free one before it goes to waste, on a woman whose page actually made you want to write something. Third, tap the Pencil Icon and read your page in View as if you were a stranger. If an answer no longer sounds like you, rewrite it.

Ten minutes a week in the hub keeps your page current and your habits honest. That does more for your results on Hinge than any single feature you could buy.
