Super Boost is a stronger version of Tinder's Boost. Tinder says it puts you in front of far more potential matches than a regular Boost does, during peak times when the app is busiest. Only Tinder subscribers can buy one, and it begins as soon as you buy it. Tinder describes Super Boost as a feature it is testing, so the option may not appear on every account.
How it differs from a regular Boost
Both do the same basic job. They push you in front of more women for a while, so more of them see you than would on an ordinary evening.
The difference is size and timing. A regular Boost gives you a lift in views while it runs. Tinder says a Super Boost reaches many times more potential matches than that, and it is built around peak times, the stretches when the most people are using the app.
So think of a Boost as a spotlight you can switch on whenever you like, and a Super Boost as a much bigger one aimed at the busiest hours.
Who can buy one
Only subscribers. Tinder says Super Boost is available to Tinder subscribers, so a free account cannot buy it. Regular Boosts are different, and anyone can buy those.
On top of that, Tinder describes Super Boost as something it is testing. If you are a subscriber and still cannot find it, that may be the reason. Not every account sees every test.
How to start one
Tinder's help page lays out the route:
- Tap the profile icon.
- Tap the Boost button.
- Choose the Super Boost option and complete the purchase.
Once you have bought it, the Super Boost starts right away. There is no waiting period between paying and being shown.
Buy it when you are free, not before
Because a Super Boost begins the moment you pay, the timing of the purchase is the timing of the Boost. That changes how you should think about buying one.
Do not buy it on your lunch break if you will be in meetings all afternoon. Do not buy it on the train home if you are about to go into a gym with no phone. Buy it when you are sitting down with an evening ahead of you and nothing else to do.
The women who see you during a Super Boost are on the app right then. The whole value of the purchase is in replying while they still are.
When the bigger reach pays off
A Super Boost makes sense when three things are true at once.
Your page already works. On an ordinary evening, women like you back at a steady rate. a dating coach calls paid features like this multipliers: they make a good result bigger. If your normal evening brings a few matches, a much bigger audience can bring many more.
You have time to answer. A big wave of matches is useless if they sit unanswered until the weekend.
You have been quiet for a while. coach has seen Boosts do their best work after a spell off the app, when few women have come across you in some time. Piling one Boost on another brings less every round. A Super Boost after a quiet spell gets the most out of the audience it reaches.
When it is money thrown away
If your page gets almost no likes on an ordinary evening, a Super Boost will not rescue it. It shows the same page to a much larger crowd of women who pass on it.
coach puts it bluntly: if you are getting zero, multiplying by a million still gives you zero. The fix in that case is your first photo, your other photos, and what you wrote, not a bigger spotlight. Get a free account bringing in some matches first. Then the Super Boost has something to multiply.
Test it against a regular Boost
My answer to most questions about paid features is to run the experiment yourself. To be worth choosing, a Super Boost should clearly earn more than a regular Boost does.
Run a regular Boost one week and note how many matches, conversations and dates come out of it. Run a Super Boost another week, at a similar time, and count the same things. If the Super Boost brings in clearly more of the matches you want, use it on your best evenings. If the two come out close, the regular Boost is the better buy.
