Skip the Wait is a paid extra for Raya members who have run out of suggestions for the day. Normally, once you have gone through your member suggestions, Raya tells you more are coming soon and you wait a few hours for the next set. Skip the Wait lets you pay to see more people now instead. You can buy it singly or in small bundles, and it does not speed up an application.

What it does

Raya shows you a limited number of member suggestions at a time. Reviews of the app describe what happens when you reach the end of them. A message tells you more member suggestions are coming soon, and more people arrive after a few hours.

Skip the Wait is the paid way around that gap. Instead of waiting, you get more suggestions straight away. Raya's App Store in-app purchases list it on its own and in small packs.

That is all it does. It gives you more people to look at, sooner. Think of it as buying time, not results.

What it does not do

Skip the Wait is not a way to get into Raya faster.

The name makes men think of the waitlist, and it is easy to see why. But Raya's own pages describe no paid way to speed up an application. Its terms say applicants who are not granted access go on a waitlist, which a dedicated team at Raya keeps reviewing.

So if you are still waiting to be accepted, there is nothing here to buy. The extra only exists for members who are already inside the app.

When paying to skip makes sense

More suggestions only help if you can do something with them. Before you pay, check two things.

First, check your likes. A standard membership comes with a limited number of likes each day as well as a limited number of people. If you have used your likes, more people to look at gives you nothing to spend on them.

Second, check your conversations. If you have matches waiting for a reply, answering them is worth more than a fresh set of people. A match has already said yes to you. A suggestion has not even seen your face.

Skip the Wait makes sense when both of those are clear: you have likes left, you are up to date with your matches, and you have a window of time right now that you would rather use than lose. A man who travels and has one free evening in a city might reasonably pay for that. If none of that is true, the few hours will pass anyway, and you lose nothing by waiting them out.

Spend the wait on your messages

For most men, most days, the few hours between batches of suggestions are the most useful part of the app.

That is the time to go back through your matches. Answer anyone you have not answered yet. Write first messages that are about something she actually shared, not a greeting that would fit anyone. a dating coach's point about openers is that a line which could be sent to any woman gets treated like one.

It is also the time to move good conversations forward. If a woman has been answering with energy, suggest meeting. Swap numbers and name a day. A date you set up during the wait is worth far more than a few extra suggestions you skim through.

If you are still on the waitlist

If you are waiting to hear back from Raya, nothing you buy changes that, and Raya's pages describe no shortcut.

The useful thing to do while you wait is to keep dating on the apps you already have. Raya is a small room. Even once you are in, it will give you a limited number of people a day. A man who puts his dating on hold for an application is waiting on an answer nobody has promised him.

Judging whether it was worth it

If you do buy Skip the Wait, give it a fair test. Buy the smallest amount and use it at a time you are free to follow up. Then look at what came of it a week later.

a dating coach judges every paid extra by what it changed. If a purchase did not move your results, it has not earned a second one. If it turned into a match you answered and a date you set up, it earned its price. If it turned into ten more people you liked and never heard from, the fix is in your pictures and your opening line, and those will do more for you than any amount of skipping.
