Gold gives you more reach, more time and more control over your matches and messaging. Muzz says Gold is designed to help you find a partner faster. It promises more visibility and more chances to connect. In practice that means free Boosts every week and a one-time extension on each match. It also means advanced search filters, Invisible Mode, the ability to undo a pass and a higher limit on active chats.
That is a long list, and most of it is not equally useful to every man. Here is each piece, sorted by what it does for you.
Reach: Boosts, likes, Instant Chat and Compliments
Boosts increase how visible your page is for a while. Gold members get free Boosts every week.
Gold members also get more likes than free members, and a free Instant Chat every day, where free members get one a month. Muzz's upgrade page also lists a free daily Compliment among the Gold features.
All of this is reach. It puts you in front of more women or gives you more chances to speak first. It works only on a page that is already good, because a woman who arrives at a weak page leaves, and a Boost simply sends more women to leave.
Time: match extensions and the chat limit
Gold lets you extend each match once, which gives you extra time to write to her. It also raises your limit on active chats.
These two are for a man whose conversations are going well. If you have plenty of chats open and not enough time to give each one attention, the higher limit helps. If you have two chats and both are cold, it does nothing for you.
Control: filters, sorting and the pre-like check
This is the group that saves the most effort.
Advanced search filters let you search by things such as height, future plans, religiosity, profession and interests. For a man who wants marriage, future plans and religiosity are the filters that matter. Using them early stops you wasting weeks on a conversation with a woman who wants a very different life.
Gold also lets you customise how profiles are sorted in Discover. And it lets you see whether you meet another member's profile filters before you like her. That last one is easy to underrate. A like sent to a woman whose filters rule you out is a like wasted, and on an app that caps likes, wasting one hurts.
Privacy: Invisible Mode and the VIP badge
Invisible Mode lets you browse privately and shows your page only to people you have liked. Some men want it because they live in a small community and would rather look around quietly.
The cost is that women who have not seen you cannot like you. You are choosing to make every first move yourself. That is a real trade, and it is only worth making if privacy matters more to you than being found.
Gold also lets you show or hide a VIP badge. It is a cosmetic choice, and it should not change how you write to her.
Undoing a pass
Gold lets you undo passes, so you can go back to a profile you skipped. It is a small feature, but men skip fast. If you passed on a woman in a hurry and then thought about her page again, you can get her back.
How to upgrade
Muzz's upgrade page says you upgrade from the Menu icon in the bottom navigation bar. Tap Upgrade, then choose a plan.
Matching a feature to your problem
The list is easier to use if you start from what is going wrong.
If your likes run out while your chats are going well, the extra likes are the fix. If you keep talking to women whose plans differ from yours, the advanced filters and the pre-like check are the fix. If chats go cold because you are slow to reply, the match extension and the higher chat limit give you room. If you want to look around quietly, Invisible Mode is the one feature built for that.
If none of those describes you, Gold has nothing to solve yet, and the free version is the better place to stay.
Which features change your results
When a man says his app gets him nothing, a dating coach starts with the front end: the photos, the written page, and whether the app shows him to enough women. A paid feature mostly changes that last part. If your photos and first lines already get women interested, reach and time features give you more of it. If they do not, they give you more of nothing.
So sort the list this way. The control features, filters and the pre-like check, help almost any man because they save effort. The reach features help a man whose page works. The privacy features help a man with a specific reason. None of them replaces a good lead photo or a first line that sounds like a person.
Before you pay, spend a week on the free version and note which limit you actually hit. Pay for the feature that removes that limit, and skip the rest.
