After you start getting laid, the job changes from getting women to deciding what you want from them and who deserves your time. You stop running techniques, relax into being yourself, build a life with more in it than women, and learn to handle the hours after sex without neediness. Men who skip this stage often find the results disappointing, even when the results are good.

The anxiety does not leave on its own

Most dating advice ends at the first success. It explains how to move from not getting laid to getting laid, and then stops.

Many men discover that the nerves are still there. You are in bed with a woman you wanted for months and you are thinking about how to keep her. You are performing, running lines in your head, watching her reaction. The result may be fine, but the experience is tense.

Build confidence that runs on its own

The goal is what some call unconscious competence: you stop trying to get the woman and start enjoying yourself. It feels like this: you used to feel like you were running a scam to get the girl, and now you are simply telling stories about your life while she enjoys them.

This comes from repetition, not insight. You keep approaching, keep going on dates, and slowly the technique becomes part of how you naturally behave. You will know it is working when a conversation no longer feels like an exam.

Decide what you actually want

Once women are interested, your problem becomes choice. Not every woman who sleeps with you is worth your time, and many men chase the next one without ever asking whether they like the last.

Take an honest inventory:

  • Do you want a girlfriend, or variety for a while?
  • What do you want to feel around a woman beyond attraction?
  • Which women leave you better off after you see them, and which leave you drained?

You are allowed to say no. A man who can turn a woman down, kindly and clearly, becomes more attractive, not less.

Handle the hours after sex well

a dating coach points to one mistake men make after sex, and it matters a great deal. For a woman, sex is a major moment, and afterward she is thinking over her decision. If you are warm and relaxed, she thinks more favorably of it. If you become needy, she starts to regret it.

In a good version, you let her stay if she wants to, talk, get to know each other, maybe share breakfast. The trouble starts when a man tries to force it. She has to get up early for work and he insists she stay, or he panics when she wants to leave and asks what this means.

What to do instead:

  • Stay easy about her schedule. If she has to go, say a warm goodnight.
  • Invite her without pressure: "I'd like to see you again this week."
  • Do not demand reassurance about where this is going.

Build a life that does not revolve around women

Chasing women rarely brings the happiness men expect. Many men who learn how to attract women find they want more: meaningful work, close friends, a sense of purpose that would still be there if every woman left.

Men who make women their only goal become desperate for attention, and that desperation shows. A man with a full life carries himself differently. He has places to be, projects he cares about and friends he sees, and a woman who joins that life adds to it.

That also makes you better at attraction, which is part of the irony. When you stop needing it, it gets easier.

Be careful with too much

For some men, a run of success becomes its own problem. Seeing three women in a week sounds appealing, but it leaves little time for work, sleep or the people you care about. If the pace leaves you exhausted or distracted, slow down on purpose.

You also owe the women honesty. Say what you are looking for. Do not let someone assume more than you intend, and do not hide behind vague texts.

Keep getting better

The skills do not stay sharp without use. Keep approaching, even if you do not need to, and keep testing yourself in unfamiliar settings. Coaching still helps at this stage, because the blind spots change. A coach at your side can see that you have become smooth in conversation but still rush the moments after, or that you collect interest from women without ever choosing one.

The men who do best later are the ones who treat success as the start of the next set of skills, not the finish.
