Your goal isn’t to look like a model. Your goal is to look like a man who takes care of himself.

Section 01

Start with your teeth

Your teeth show when you talk, laugh, and smile. A small issue can change how your whole face looks.

Brush your teeth twice each day. Clean between them with floss or small dental brushes. If your gums bleed often, see a dentist. Bad breath and dirty teeth will hurt you more than a small flaw in your jaw or nose.

Get a dental cleaning if you haven’t had one in a while. Ask the dentist if whitening makes sense for you. You don’t need bright white teeth that look fake. You need teeth that look clean.

Your lips matter too. If they’re dry and cracked, use lip balm. Keep your mouth clean before you go out. Carry gum or mints, but don’t chew while you talk to a woman.

One of our students had good clothes and a strong body, but he covered his mouth when he laughed. His teeth were stained from coffee. He got a cleaning, changed how he cared for his teeth, and stopped hiding his smile. Women didn’t see a different man. They saw his face more clearly.

Section 02

Get your skin under control

You don’t need a shelf full of products. Start with three things: a mild face wash, a plain moisturizer, and sunscreen.

Wash your face after sweating. Use warm water, not very hot water. Pat your skin dry with a clean towel. Don’t scrub hard. Rough scrubbing can leave your skin red and sore.

Use moisturizer after washing. If your skin gets oily, pick a light lotion. If your skin gets dry, pick a thicker cream. The bottle should say that it won’t clog pores.

Use sunscreen on your face when you’ll spend time outside. Sun damage adds rough spots and deep lines over time. A simple face sunscreen works well.

If you have painful acne, deep marks, or a rash that won’t go away, see a skin doctor. Don’t keep buying random products and hope one fixes the problem.

Also wash the things that touch your face. Change your pillowcase often. Clean your phone screen. Wash hats and glasses. A dirty phone pressed against your cheek can make breakouts worse.

Skin care won’t turn you into another person. It can make your face look less red, less greasy, and more even. That’s enough to help.

Section 03

Lose the weight that changes your face

Extra weight often shows first around your waist, neck, and face. Your shirts fit worse. Your jaw looks softer. Your stomach pushes against your belt.

You don’t need a strange diet. Eat fewer foods that are easy to overeat. Cut back on soda, sweet coffee drinks, chips, fast food, and large late-night meals.

Build meals around meat, eggs, fish, beans, yogurt, fruit, vegetables, rice, and potatoes. Put food on a plate instead of eating from a large bag. Stop when you’ve had enough, not when the bag is empty.

Walk each day. Lift weights two or three times each week. You can use a gym, dumbbells, or your own body weight. Focus on basic moves such as squats, pushups, rows, and presses.

A guy I coached ate fast food on his way home and kept snacks beside his desk. He said he had no idea why his waist kept growing. We changed two things. He bought food before he got hungry, and he stopped keeping snacks beside his computer. His meals stayed simple. His belt got looser.

Don’t try to lose all the weight at once. Pick a small change you can repeat. Your face and waist will change when your food and training stay steady.

Section 04

Fix the parts women see first

A clean haircut can change your face more than an expensive shirt. Find a barber who cuts your hair in a way that suits your head and hairline. Bring a photo of a style you can keep up with.

Keep your beard trimmed. If your cheeks grow unevenly, shave them clean. Clean your neck. Long, messy neck hair makes even a good haircut look careless.

Take care of your hands. Cut your nails. Wash under them. Use hand cream if your skin cracks. Women notice hands when you shake hands, touch a glass, or sit across from them.

Wear clothes that fit your body. Your shirt should sit flat across your chest without pulling at the buttons. Your pants should stay at your waist without folding up under your belt. Your shoes should be clean.

You don’t need a closet full of clothes. A few plain shirts, good jeans or trousers, clean shoes, and a jacket that fits can carry most situations. Replace clothes with holes, stretched collars, or stains.

Smell clean. Shower. Use deodorant. If you wear cologne, use a small amount. A woman should notice it when she stands close, not when you walk into the room.

Section 05

Make your face look alive

Sleep affects your eyes, skin, and face. When you sleep badly, your eyes look dull and your skin can look pale or greasy. Keep a steady sleep time. Put your phone away before bed. Keep your room dark and cool.

Your posture changes how your body looks in clothes. Stand with your chest open, your shoulders down, and your head level. Don’t force your chest out like you’re in a military line. Just stop folding over your phone.

When you meet a woman, look at her while she speaks. Smile when you mean it. Let your face move. A stiff face can make a good-looking man seem closed off.

Looking good is mostly a list of small tasks. Clean teeth. Clearer skin. A smaller waist. A haircut that suits you. Clothes that fit. Those changes show before you say your first line.
