Yes, for almost every man. Verifying takes a few minutes. It puts a badge next to your name that tells a woman you are the person in the pictures, and it gets you past the filters of women who only hear from verified people. It does not make you interesting, and it does not fix a weak profile. Think of it as removing one reason for her to hesitate, so the reasons that really matter can do their work.
What the badge says about you
Photo Verification asks for a short video selfie. Tinder compares the face in the video to the face in your photos, and if they match, you get the badge.
So the badge means one narrow thing: you are probably the man in those pictures. Tinder is clear that the badge is not a promise about anyone's identity or safety. It is a screen. That is still worth having, because a woman who has met fake accounts treats a verified one as a point in your favor.
Why it is worth the few minutes
Women get a lot of fake and misleading cards, and they know it. a dating coach notes that in the United States there are a lot of fake profiles on Tinder. A woman who has been burned once is quicker to skip a man with nothing to show he is real. She is not being unfair. She is protecting her evening, and a small proof from you costs her nothing to accept.
Tinder also lets people turn on a setting called Photo Verified Chat. A woman who switches it on can only be messaged by verified people, and anyone else is asked to verify first. If you are unverified, you are asking the women who care most about safety to do extra work before they can talk to you.
Tinder has also tested ID Verification in Australia and New Zealand. It says people who completed it got far more matches there. That was Tinder's own measurement in two countries, and the option is offered only in some test markets. Take it as a sign that a badge helps, not as a figure you will copy.
What it cannot do
A badge does not improve your photos, and it does not give her a reason to message you.
A verified man with a dull first photo and a bare page is still a dull card. The badge gets her to look twice at a card that is already good. It will not turn a weak one into a strong one, so do not stop here. Treat it as step one.
It also helps if everything else matches the man in the video. A woman who sees a verified badge and then a photo from ten years ago will notice the gap, and the badge makes the gap look worse, not better. Use photos that look like you now, so the badge and the pictures tell the same story.
When you might hesitate
Photo Verification is optional. Tinder's Face Check, a similar video selfie, is required for new users in some places. If a face scan makes you uneasy, read what Tinder says it does with the data before you decide. Tinder says it uses your facial geometry to check your pictures, to reduce fraud and to make sure no other account is using your face. The last of those protects you if someone copies your pictures.
Not having the badge is not a red flag on its own, and some good men skip it. But on an app where women are screening hard for fakes, skipping it costs you something, and a few minutes is a small price.
If it does not go through
A likely reason is the photo Tinder compares you against. Tinder looks for a clear solo photo of your face that matches the face in your video.
Set that up first, then record the video in good light, facing the camera with your whole face in the frame. If you fail once, check your photos before you try again, and swap in ones that look like you today.
What to do after you are verified
Treat the badge as the door and your page as the room. Look at your first photo with fresh eyes, then at what you wrote. A bio that gives her something to answer will do more for you than any badge can. Verify first, then spend your attention on the parts she actually reads.
