You can text her every day, but only if each text gives her something worth answering. Daily texting is not a goal. It works when you have something real to say and she enjoys the exchange, and it turns into a chore the moment you text just to keep a streak alive. Use it to build toward meeting her, not to replace meeting her.

Should you text a girl every day?

Often it is fine, early on, as long as both of you are into it. If she answers quickly, sends longer texts back and brings up new topics, daily contact is natural.

But "every day" should be a result, not a rule. Nobody needs a text on a day when you have nothing to say. If you send "good morning" and "how was your day" out of habit, you are training her to skim past your name.

So the better question is how to make a daily text worth reading.

Give each text a reason to exist

Before you send, ask yourself what this text is for. Good reasons include:

  • Something funny or odd happened and she came to mind.
  • You are following up on something she told you.
  • You have a plan or a question about a plan.
  • You want her opinion on something real.

A text with a reason is short and specific. "Just tried the ramen place you hate. You were right about the broth, but the gyoza saved it" is a text. "Hey, what's up?" is a ping.

Vary the kind of text you send

If every text is a question, you sound like an interviewer. If every text is a joke, you sound like a comedian. Mix them.

  • A reaction. Something about her day or something she said.
  • A story. Two or three lines about something that happened to you.
  • A tease. A light, playful jab at her taste or a running joke.
  • A plan. A suggestion to do something together.
  • A question. One real one, that she would enjoy answering.

Over a week, this gives her a picture of who you are, which is what makes her want to keep talking.

Match her pace

If she replies in a few hours, you can reply in a few hours. If she writes every couple of days, do not text three times a day. A man who texts far more often than he gets replies looks anxious, and anxiety is a quick way to cool interest.

Do not rush to answer every text instantly either, but do not play games with long waits. Respond when you normally would, with a text that sounds like you.

Do not let it become a pen pal situation

This is the biggest risk with daily texting. Two people text for three weeks, enjoy it, and never meet. Then one of them gets busy, the texts fade, and nothing has happened.

Texting is warm-up. The real thing is seeing her. After a few days of good back-and-forth, suggest a meeting: "I am enjoying this. Want to get a drink Thursday?" A day and a place make it concrete.

If she keeps dodging the invitation while happily texting every day, she may like the attention without wanting a date. Ask once more, and if it goes nowhere, spend your time on someone who will meet you.

When to take a day off

Some days, send nothing. A break makes you seem like a man with a full life, and it gives her space to start a conversation herself.

You also do not need to text her through every bad day or every silence. If she goes quiet for a day, carry on with your life. Her reply, when it comes, will mean more than one you pulled out with three follow-ups.

What to avoid

  • Empty greetings. "Good morning" every day with nothing behind it.
  • Reporting your entire day. She does not need a play-by-play.
  • Long monologues. If she cannot answer in a sentence or two, it is too long.
  • Jealousy or demands. Asking why she did not reply, or who she is with, ends things quickly.
  • Texting when upset. Wait until you are calm.

A sample week

Monday, a reaction to something she mentioned over the weekend. Tuesday, a quick story from your day. Wednesday, a playful tease and a question. Thursday, nothing, or a single line. Friday, a plan for the weekend.

That is not a script, just a rhythm, and it feels natural to both of you.

The short version

Text her when you have something worth sending, keep each text short and specific, match her pace, and aim every conversation at meeting her. If daily texting is fun for both of you, great. If it starts to feel like homework, cut back and spend the energy on a date.
