You can delete your Christian Mingle account at any time, from the website or from the app. Go to Account Settings, then Manage Account, then Delete Account, and confirm. Deleting is permanent, and it does not cancel a paid subscription, so if you are a Premium member, turn off auto-renewal before you delete anything. The steps are below.
Delete it from the website
On a computer, the path is short:
- Open Profile from the left sidebar.
- Go to Account Settings.
- Choose Manage Account.
- Select Delete Account, then select Delete Account again.
- Choose a reason from the list.
- Type the word delete and confirm.
The double confirmation is deliberate. The site wants to be sure you meant it, because there is no way back afterward.
Delete it from the app
On your phone, tap the Profile icon at the bottom right. From there, follow the same Account Settings path as on the website: Manage Account, Delete Account, a reason, the word delete, and confirm.
The screens are the same two clicks deep as on the website, so if you get lost, go back to Profile and start the path again from the top.
It is permanent
When you delete the account, your profile, matches and messages are removed. Christian Mingle support cannot restore the account afterward. If you come back later, you start again from nothing.
So before you tap the last confirmation, decide whether there is anything you want to keep. Chats with women you are still talking to are the obvious one. If a conversation is going well, move it to a text or a call first and make sure you have her number. Once the account is gone, so is your only way to reach her.
Cancel a Premium subscription first
This is the step men miss. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. If you pay for Premium, you can keep being billed after the profile is gone.
Turn off auto-renewal before you delete. On the website, go to Account Settings, then Subscription, then Manage Subscription. If you subscribed through the app, cancel in your Apple or Google account instead, because that is where the charge is controlled.
After you cancel, Premium access continues until the end of the paid term, then the account becomes Basic. Christian Mingle says its purchases are final and non-refundable, so cancelling does not return money for time you already paid for. That is the reason to cancel as soon as you decide you are leaving, and not a week before the renewal date.
Deleting versus just stopping
If you are not sure you are done, you can stop using the app without deleting anything. Cancelling the subscription and logging out costs you nothing and keeps your options open. Delete only when you are sure, because the account cannot be brought back.
If you are leaving because it is not working
Some men delete an account because they are tired of it, and the app is not always the reason. If you got few replies and no dates, it is worth asking what produced that before you leave one place and repeat it somewhere else.
Count what you control. Of the women you messaged, how many answered? Of those who answered, how many agreed to a plan? If the first number is low, the cause is usually your photos or your first line. If the second is low, you may be chatting for weeks without moving toward a date. a dating coach's approach is short exchanges with a purpose, usually four to seven texts, closing with a plan and a number.
coach also says you do not have to be loyal to one app. If a faith-centered site is the right fit for what you want, it can be worth giving it a fair test with better photos and a clear written line about what you are looking for. If it is not the right fit, try another place with the same improvements.
Before you go
A short checklist keeps the exit clean:
- Cancel auto-renewal, and confirm it in the place you subscribed
- Move any live conversation to a phone number
- Save anything you want to keep, like a photo you like
- Then delete the account
A last point
Deleting is a tidy way to end a chapter, and it is not a verdict on you. Plenty of men leave an app and have better luck on the next one, because they change the photos and the opening line on the way out. If your chats keep stalling at the same place on every app, a coach can read them with you and show you where.
