At least a week. Hinge says the Signals badge never shows during your first week on the app, although it counts your activity from your very first day. After that, eligibility is based on your last 30 days and refreshes daily, so it can take up to a day for the badge to catch up with what you have done. Hinge asks you to let a full day pass before contacting Support about it.

The first week

For your first seven days on Hinge, no badge appears, whatever you do. That is a fixed rule, not a judgment on your activity.

The important detail is that the week is not wasted. Hinge counts your activity from day one. Everything you do in that first week, every comment and every conversation you follow up, is already going toward the badge. It simply cannot show yet.

So the first week is the time to build the habits, not to wait for them to matter.

The 30-day window

After the first week, Hinge decides eligibility based on your last 30 days of activity. That window moves forward every day.

This cuts both ways. It means a strong month keeps the badge in place even if you have a quiet weekend. It also means a strong first week followed by three weeks of barely opening the app will not hold it up forever. The old activity slides out of the window, and the badge follows it.

Think of the badge as a rolling average of how you use the app, not a trophy you win once.

The daily refresh

Hinge refreshes eligibility once a day rather than in real time. If you meet the criteria this afternoon, do not expect the badge to appear this afternoon.

That is why Hinge asks you to let a full day pass before contacting Support. A badge that has not appeared yet is often not missing at all. It just has not been recalculated. Wait a day, then check again.

To check, tap your photo icon at the bottom right of the screen, then pick Check Your Signals under Get More. The hub tells you whether the badge is active and explains, in general terms, what kind of activity counts. If your first week is over, a full day has passed and the badge is still inactive, go back through the baseline and the habits below before you write to Support. One of them is usually the answer.

What to do in your first week

There are two parts to the badge, and your first week is the time to get both in order.

The baseline comes first. Hinge wants a finished page, meaning clear photos and prompt answers with some thought in them. Your account has to be in good standing, and you need to have passed Selfie Verification. Get the verification done early. Without it, the badge stays hidden no matter how active you are.

Then the habits. Hinge counts five behaviors and wants to see at least three of them. Three happen around likes: reading a page properly before you like it, attaching a comment, and dealing with the likes that come in. The last two are writing to the women you match with and confirming the dates you plan. Those first three are entirely in your hands from day one.

In practice, read each woman's whole page before you tap. Write one specific line with every like. Work through your incoming likes instead of letting them stack up. Once you have matches, message them and keep the conversations going.

Why cramming does not help

Sending fifty likes on your first evening will not speed anything up. The badge needs your first week to pass, and it looks at a month, not a night.

It can also hurt you in a way that has nothing to do with the badge. In a dating coach's experience, dating apps pay attention to how selective you are. A man who likes nearly everyone gets read as less attractive, and the app has little reason to show him its most attractive women. coach also finds that half an hour a day across ten days gets you more than five hours in one sitting.

Both points push the same way. A steady daily habit of careful likes beats a burst of careless ones, for the badge and for your results.

What matters more than the timing

The badge is a small label next to your name. Women notice it, and it can help a woman who is on the fence. It will never outweigh a strong first photo or a funny prompt answer.

The habits it rewards are a different matter. Reading her page, commenting, answering the women who like you, and moving chats toward a date are how likes turn into evenings out. Do those from your first day because they work. Keep them up and the badge can follow once your first week is over. More to the point, the dates follow too.
