Name one small, specific thing she could do, in a voice that sounds like you. The Way to Win Me Over prompt is an invitation, and the best answers hand a woman a task she can picture doing. Skip "kindness" and "good vibes," and write the move itself: bring a snack to a hike, recommend a bad movie, argue with you about the best taco.

What the prompt is really asking

On your Hinge profile this prompt reads as instructions. She is looking for a way to talk to you, and you are telling her the easiest door.

That means the answer works best when it is something she could do inside a first message. A request to guess, to recommend or to take a side gives her a reply before she has had to think of one.

Why the usual answers fail

The most common answers are virtues: "be kind," "have a sense of humor," "be genuine." Nobody argues with them, and nobody replies to them either. They describe most people and give her nothing to type.

A second family of answers makes it a test: "be someone who can keep up with me." That reads as a challenge from a stranger who has not earned one, and women read it as arrogance or as insecurity.

A third family is the checklist: height, job and hobbies in a row. It sounds like a form, and it makes the page about what you want from her instead of what it is like to talk to you.

The formula: one action, one detail

A strong answer has a verb and a noun. The verb is what she does. The noun is a real thing from your life.

Compare "have a good sense of humor" with "tell me the worst pun you know and defend it." The second has a verb, tell, and a task, defend it. She can start typing at once.

Now look at "adventurous." Swap it for "pick the weirdest restaurant in the neighborhood and I will order whatever you point at." It is more specific, a little risky and easy to answer.

Examples to borrow the shape of

Do not copy these. Use them to see how much work a single detail does.

  • Recommend a movie that is objectively bad, and tell me why you love it.
  • Be on the right side of the pineapple question. I will wait.
  • Send me the song you play when you are cleaning the kitchen.
  • Disagree with me about breakfast tacos, but bring evidence.
  • Pick the trail and I will carry the snacks. I am good at snacks.
  • Find the best bookstore in town before I do.
  • Teach me one word in a language you speak. I will use it badly.
  • Order for both of us at a place I have never been.

Each one could come from a different man, and each gives her a different reply. That variety is the point: it should sound like you and nobody else.

Match the answer to what you want

If you want playful chats, write something light and a little mischievous. If you want something more grounded, write something warm and plain, such as "ask me about the best meal I cooked this year." a dating coach's rule for any page is that it attracts what it describes, so choose the tone you want to be talking in on a Thursday evening.

Do not fake a personality to get more likes. A joke you would not say out loud on a date will be uncomfortable on the date.

Keep the answer short

One or two lines is enough. A paragraph in a prompt slot reads as a man who cannot stop explaining, and it leaves her nothing to add.

Read it aloud. If a friend would not say it to a woman at a bar, change it. If a stranger who has never met you could have written the same sentence, it is still generic.

Pair it with your other prompts

This prompt should do a different job from your others. If one prompt shows what you are like to be around, and another gives an opinion, let this one be the easy invitation. Three prompts that all say the same thing waste two of them.

Pick the other answers around it so your page has one funny line, one real opinion and one door she can walk through. Then check that your first photo is a clear shot of your face, because a good prompt only gets read by women who stay on the page.

What to leave out

Skip anything that makes her your assistant ("make me dinner"), anything sexual, and anything that sounds like a condition ("must love dogs, no drama"). Skip jokes about being rich or about how hard you are to impress. The best answer makes a stranger smile and gives her an easy first line.
