You browse profiles and tap Like on one that feels like a good fit, or Pass to skip it. If she likes you back, you are matched automatically and can start chatting. Muzz limits how many Likes you can use within a window of several hours, so when you run out a timer appears the next time you try to Like someone. Likes are topped up twice a day. A match also has a clock: it expires if neither of you sends a message in time.
The basic flow
Muzz shows you profiles in the Marriage tab. If one fits, you Like it. If not, you Pass and move on. A mutual Like becomes a match at once, with no further step.
Your filters decide who appears. Age, location and the other settings you choose shape the Marriage tab, which is why a careful man sets them honestly before he starts tapping.
The limit and the timer
Muzz limits how many profiles you can Like within a rolling window of several hours. The company says this is so members think carefully about the profiles they are shown. When you hit the limit, a timer appears when you try to Like someone.
Likes are topped up twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. Gold members get more Likes and can buy extra bundles when they run out. A free member who does not want to wait can open the Menu and choose Upgrade.
The limit changes how you should behave. A man who taps every profile in a rush burns through his Likes in a few minutes and then has nothing left for the woman he really wanted to write to.
The Explore area
Explore holds the lists that let you keep track:
- Liked you: members who have liked your page.
- Visited you: members who have viewed your page.
- Liked: pages you have liked.
- Passed: pages you have passed.
Gold members can change their mind on a pass. The Liked you tab is the most useful, since a woman there has already shown interest, and a man who writes to her has a good chance of a reply.
Matches expire
A match expires if neither member sends a message within a few days. When it does, the profile goes back to your Marriage tab, so it is not gone for good. You can buy a credit to extend a match for a further couple of days, and Gold members get a free match extension credit every week.
The clock exists to keep conversations moving. It is also a nudge to the man who matches and then waits, hoping she writes first. Write first, and write soon.
How to spend your Likes
Treat each Like as a small investment in a woman you would actually write to.
Read her page before you tap. If you can name something specific about it, such as an interest or a detail she wrote, the Like is a good one. If you cannot, pass.
a dating coach's point about online dating is that selectivity is not a handicap. In his experience, a man who taps indiscriminately is often scored by the app as less attractive, and he gets less in return. Spending Likes only on women you would answer protects your results and your time.
Then send a message soon after a match. Make it a line about one real thing on her page that she can answer in a sentence. A match that begins with "hi" is a match that tends to expire.
What the limit does not change
Filters only control what you see. They do not stop another member from seeing or liking you. So a woman outside your filters can still like you, and her Like shows up in the Liked you tab.
That works in your favor, because it means your page is being seen by people you did not choose. Your first photo is therefore doing real work, and a clear, recent one in daylight does more than any feature on the paid tier.
Whether to pay
Pay only if you are consistently running out of Likes while getting real conversations. That is the signal that the limit, not your page, is the bottleneck. If your Likes are not turning into matches, or your matches into replies, extra Likes will only produce more of the same.
Run the free version for a week or two, count the matches and the conversations that came from them, and decide with those numbers in front of you.
