Yes, through a web browser. JDate's help center says you can log in from its homepage in a browser as well as through the iOS and Android apps, and its own page on how the service works points to the desktop site at jdate.com. A Mac can run that site, so you can browse recommended matches and send messages from your laptop.
What you will not find is a Mac app. JDate's App Store listing marks the app Not verified for macOS, so the way to use it on a Mac is the website.
What you use on a Mac
Open a browser, go to jdate.com and log in. You get the same account you would use on a phone, with the same recommendations and the same messages.
The help center also says a subscription bought on the website or in an app applies across both. If you pay for Premium on your phone, it covers you on the laptop too, and the other way around. You do not buy twice to use both.
Which browser to use
JDate's help center lists Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Microsoft Edge as browsers to try when the site has problems. All four run on a Mac, and Safari is already there.
If one of them acts up, switch to another before you decide the site is broken. A man who gives up after one bad page load usually missed an easy fix.
If the site misbehaves
The help center keeps its advice short. Clear your cache and cookies, update your browser, and turn off any VPN. If it still fails, try a different browser from the list above.
The VPN point deserves attention. JDate says it is available in the United States, Canada, Australia and US territories. Signing in from another country can block or flag the account. So can a VPN server outside those places. Plenty of Mac users keep a VPN on all day without thinking about it. Check that yours is off, or set to a server inside one of those places, before you log in.
Laptop or phone
Having both is better than picking one, because they do different jobs.
A bigger screen helps with the slow work. Profile pages, photos and the first message you send to someone you actually want to meet all read more clearly on a laptop. You see her whole page at once, which makes it easier to find the one real detail worth mentioning.
The phone is better for speed. Replies come when she is on her own phone, and a quick answer in the same hour keeps the conversation alive. a dating coach's method relies on short exchanges that move to a plan in about four to seven messages, and a man who only checks the site on his Mac in the evening loses days between replies.
A simple split works: write and think on the laptop, reply on the phone.
What the device does not change
Where you log in has no effect on what she sees. Her decision still rests on your photos and your first line.
Use the bigger screen to check that your lead photo is clear and recent, with your face visible in daylight, and that your few lines on what you want sound like you. Then write each first message to one woman, mentioning something specific from her page. A line she could receive from fifty men is the one she skips.
Before you pay
Because the site works fully in a browser, you can test JDate on a Mac for free. The free Basic membership lets you view profiles, message the members you have matched with and send a limited number of Likes each day. Try that on your laptop for a couple of weeks before you consider Premium.
If you do subscribe, remember that purchases are final and renew automatically unless you turn off auto-renewal first. Do that the day you pay, so the choice to continue is yours.
The short version
JDate works on a Mac in your browser, not as a Mac app. Use Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge, keep any VPN off, and clear your cache if the site stalls. Then spend the effort on what actually decides your results: the photo she sees first and the line you write to her.
