Partly. Members who pause their account or hide their profile do not show up in Discover. But a member who has simply stopped opening the app is not described as removed from Discover. Feeld terminates inactive accounts and deletes their data 1 year after the account was last accessed. So some profiles you see may belong to people who rarely log in.
Who does not appear
Two kinds of profile are taken out of Discover on purpose.
Members who pause their account do not appear in Discover, and their connections see that the account is paused. Members who hide their profile are removed from other members' Discover.
Both are choices a member made, so you are looking at people who are meant to be seen.
The quiet member
A member who just stops using Feeld has made no choice at all. Nothing in Feeld's help center says that such a profile leaves Discover straight away.
The inactive account is terminated and its data deleted 1 year after the account was last accessed. Until then it can sit there. So a profile that never answers may belong to a woman who is gone for months.
Do not take that personally. Most of the silence a man hears on any dating app comes from people who are not looking at it.
Seeing who is active
Majestic members get two tools that deal with this directly.
The Recently online filter in Discover shows only members who were online within the last 7 days. If your concern is wasting likes on dead accounts, this is the cleanest way to avoid them.
Majestic members also get Last Seen, which shows when someone was last using Feeld, and can sort likes by last seen. That helps you decide who is worth writing to first.
Free members do not have these. If you are on the free level, treat a profile with no recent activity as a coin flip.
When your area is small
Feeld says that outside major cities the community can be small. It suggests widening distance, age range and other filters, and trying popular or virtual locations.
A small area can look like a lot of inactive profiles when it is really a few active ones and a lot of repeats. Widening the filters gives you more to see. Browsing a popular location shows you what the app looks like where it is busy, and whether it is worth your time at home.
What to do about it
You cannot make an inactive profile active, so use your effort on the ones you can reach.
Put your attention on profiles that show signs of life. If you have Majestic, use the Recently online filter. If you do not, spend your likes where the person looks like someone who would actually turn up, and do not agonize over the ones that never move.
Then make sure your own profile deserves a reply. A woman who opens Feeld once a week looks at a handful of profiles. A clear lead photo, a few honest ones that show your life, and a short bio that sounds like you make you one of the handful she answers.
If the area stays quiet after you have widened your filters, take that seriously. A site only works as well as the number of active people near you, and sometimes the answer is to use a different dating app for a while.
What not to do
Do not send a long string of follow-ups to someone who has not answered. A woman who is inactive will not see them, and a woman who is active and silent has told you what you need to know. One honest opening line and then moving on is the right amount of effort.
The short version
Paused and hidden profiles stay out of Discover. A member who simply stops opening the app is not described as removed, and Feeld deletes inactive accounts 1 year after last access. Majestic members can use Recently online, for the last 7 days, and Last Seen. In a small area, widen your filters and try other locations.
