Tinder hasn’t stopped working
You can still get dates on Tinder. The hard part is that many men use the app with weak photos, empty profiles, and messages that give her no reason to reply.
She sees a stack of profiles. Your first photo has one job. It needs to show your face in good light, with no sunglasses, helmet, or group of five men. Use a photo where you look calm and easy to place.
Your second photo should show your life. You might be cooking in your kitchen, standing on a trail, or sitting at a table with friends. The photo needs one clear subject. If she has to guess which man you are, the photo fails.
Your third photo can show a hobby or skill. Play guitar. Lift weights. Paint. Make bread. The activity matters less than the picture. It should give her a simple question to ask.
Do not lead with a mirror photo in a dark bedroom. Do not use five photos from the same party. Do not hide your face in every shot. A woman cannot feel interest in a face she never gets to see.
Your profile needs to help her place you
A good profile answers three basic questions:
- What do you do with your free time?
- What kind of life do you have?
- What would it be like to meet you?
You do not need a long life story. Write two or three short lines that show real details.
For example:
I make a strong breakfast, play tennis badly, and know the best noodle spot near downtown. Looking for a woman who likes good food and can laugh when the score gets ugly.
That profile gives her several ways to reply. She can ask about breakfast, tennis, or the noodle spot. It also shows a man with a life outside the app.
Avoid lines like “I love to have fun” or “I’m laid back.” Almost anyone can write those words. They give her no picture.
Write about the thing you actually do. If you run, name the park. If you cook, name the meal you make well. If you travel, mention the place that made you want to return. Details make a profile feel like a real man wrote it.
You also need a clear intent. If you want a relationship, do not act as if you only want something casual. If you want to meet women and see where things go, say that in plain words. You do not need to write a serious speech about it.
Send messages that give her something to answer
“Hey” makes her do all the work. “How’s your day?” gives her a question she has answered many times. Use the profile and send something tied to what you can see.
If her photo shows a plate of food, write:
Is that ramen from the place on Oak Street, or did you find a better spot?
If her profile says she likes live music, write:
You get one song to play in the car for a long drive. What are you picking?
These messages work because they are easy to answer. They also give her a small look at your taste.
Do not write a long opening message. Two lines are enough. You are starting a conversation, not trying to prove your worth through text.
When she replies, answer her point and add a small piece about yourself. If she says she likes spicy food, you might write:
I like spicy food too, but I once ordered the hottest curry on the menu and spent the meal drinking water. What’s your best spicy dish?
Now she has a question, and she knows something about you. The exchange has a shape.
Do not ask five questions in a row. That makes the chat feel like a form. Do not send three follow-up messages when she has not answered. One message is enough.
Move from the app to a real meeting
Tinder chats often fail because men keep texting long after the woman has shown interest. You do not need to talk for a week before asking her out.
After a few good exchanges, suggest a simple plan. Be clear about the place and time.
You seem fun to talk to. Let’s get coffee at the shop near the park. Are you free Thursday evening?
That message is better than “We should hang out sometime.” It gives her a real plan to accept or reject.
Keep the first meeting short and easy. Coffee, a drink, or a walk in a busy area works well. You want enough time to talk, but not a four-hour plan with someone you have never met.
If she says she is busy, do not beg for another chance. Write:
No problem. Send me a day that works for you.
Then stop pushing. If she wants to meet, she can offer a time. If she keeps giving vague replies, remove the match and keep your attention on women who make plans with you.
You also need to accept that many matches will go nowhere. Some women will match and never reply. Some will stop texting back after two messages. Some will agree to meet and cancel. Do not build a story around each one.
Look at your actions. Are your photos clear? Does your profile show a real life? Do your messages mention something from her profile? Are you asking her out before the chat turns dull?
Tinder has problems, but it still puts you in front of women you would not meet at work, the gym, or a bar. The app is not a date. It is a way to start one. Your job is to make the next step simple.
