Not by name or phone number. Bumble's help center lists no way to look up a particular member. People are found through two tabs, the People tab and Discover, and you narrow what they show with filters. If you are trying to find one woman you already know, the app will not do it, but a friend can send her page to you.
The People tab
The People tab shows profiles that match your filters. You go through them one at a time and decide whether to like each one. If you like each other, you match.
This is where most of your activity happens, so the filters you set matter more than anything else. Tighten them and the tab shows fewer, more specific people. Loosen them and you see more.
The Discover tab
Discover suggests different people each day. It is built around shared interests, and it gives you a way to see women the main stack may not have put in front of you.
Think of it as the browsing tab. You are not looking for anyone in particular. You are seeing who the app thinks you might like and giving each one a fair look.
Filters are the closest thing to search
Filters let you narrow by age, distance, verification, languages and interests. Premium adds more advanced ones, and we are not listing which because that changes.
Use them with a purpose. If you want women who share a language, or who are verified, set that. If you have no strong preference, leave it alone. Every filter you add makes the pool smaller.
Bumble's own guidance says that the more filters you apply, the fewer people you will see. A man who sets six and then complains that the app is quiet has searched himself into a corner.
Recommend to a Friend
Bumble has one tool for pointing a specific person out. Friends can share a page with the Recommend to a Friend feature. It creates a link that opens inside the app for someone who has an account.
So if a friend knows a woman on Bumble and thinks you would get along, she can send you the link. That is the one way to land on a particular person's page deliberately, and it comes from someone who knows her.
What you cannot do
You cannot block people from your phone contacts, and you cannot hide your page from them by name or number. That cuts both ways. A woman who knows you cannot be kept off your stack, and you cannot be kept off hers.
Men sometimes want to look up an ex, or a woman they met once. Bumble gives no direct way to do that, and the cleaner answers are also better ones.
If you met her somewhere else
Say you talked to a woman at a party or a class and never got her number. Bumble will not return her to you. The people who can are the friend who introduced you, or the host of the event, or whoever else was standing near the two of you.
The lesson is for the next time. When a conversation is going well, ask for her number before you leave. That one sentence beats any amount of searching afterward.
If she does come up in your stack some day, like her and add a short line saying where you met. Keep it friendly and brief, and let her decide what to do with it.
Spend the effort on the women you do see
Waiting for one particular woman to appear is a poor plan, because you cannot control when it happens. The women Bumble does show you are the real chances.
Give each one an honest look. Write to the ones you like with something specific from her page: a place in her pictures, a line from her answers, an opinion she stated. Keep it to two sentences and end on a question she can answer in a line.
a dating coach's view is that these apps are businesses that want women to stay, so they favor men who keep women engaged. A man who writes good first lines to women he can actually meet does better than one who spends his time hunting for a single person.
A short routine
Set your filters once, honestly. Open the People tab once or twice a day for a short session. Look through Discover for the interests you share. Write first to the women you like, within the day.
If you do that for a couple of weeks and still get little back, the filters were not the problem. Look at the photos and the first lines.
