Hinge does not publish a best day or hour, and nothing in what we have read from Hinge or from a dating coach names one. The timing that is supported is about you, not the clock. Boost after you have been away from the app for a while, and start it when you will be free to answer likes for the whole hour. A free evening you can spend on the app beats any special hour you cannot use.

What Hinge actually says

Hinge describes a Boost as putting you front and center for one hour, making you more visible to potential matches. A Superboost does the same for 24 hours. Other users do not know you are being Boosted.

That is all Hinge promises. It does not say which weekday is strongest, which hour has the most women online, or how much extra attention to expect. Any article that gives you an exact best time is either guessing or repeating someone else's guess.

So the honest answer starts with an admission: there is no verified best hour, and the useful question is how to make your own hour count.

The first rule: wait until you have been quiet

My experience with his own accounts and his clients' is that on certain apps a Boost works well when you have not been on in a while and have not been shown to many people lately.

Run Boost after Boost in quick succession, he says, and two things happen. The app has fewer fresh, active people left to show you, so each hour reaches a thinner crowd. And apps tend to cap how much they hand out to one man in a short time. His point is that overusing a Boost gets you throttled.

In practice, space them out. One Boost after a quiet stretch earns more than three on a slow Sunday.

The second rule: choose an hour you can spend

A Boost brings likes, and likes cool off. A woman who liked you during your hour is on the app right then. If you answer while she is still there, the chat starts warm. If you answer two days later, she has been talking to other men.

So pick a window where your phone is in your hand and you can reply in minutes. My own example is the dull stretch of a long conference call where you only need to be present. An evening at home works for the same reason. An hour in which you will be driving, cooking or out with friends wastes a Boost you paid for.

For a Superboost you cannot hover for 24 hours. Check in at your usual times and answer each like on the day it arrives.

Do not start it on impulse

Hinge says a Boost you already own activates the moment you tap the button. Treat that tap as the start of the clock. Buy when it suits you, and start it only when the next hour is one you can use.

Measure your own best time

Since no verified hour exists, measure yours. Hinge helps here: when a like comes from your Boost, it puts a small lightning bolt next to the name of the person who liked you, and another next to her name if it becomes a match.

Keep a simple note after each Boost:

  • When you started it, and what else was going on.
  • How many likes you got in the hour, compared with an ordinary evening.
  • How many of those turned into matches, then conversations, then plans.

Run two or three Boosts in different windows, with a gap between them, and the notes will tell you more than any list of best times. Keep the comparison fair by changing only one thing at a time.

Check the page before you spend

A Boost changes how many women see you. It does not change what they think when they do. coach describes most paid features as multipliers on whatever you already earn.

If your page normally earns a handful of likes, an hour of extra visibility earns more. If it earns almost none, you pay to be passed over by a bigger crowd. Look at your first picture and your written answers before you buy.

What to do with the likes

Answer each one with a real message. If she commented on something, reply to her comment and add a small detail about yourself. If she sent a plain like, react to one specific thing on her page.

Keep it short and a little playful, and aim at a plan. coach moves a woman from the app to her number in four to seven messages, and the likes from a Boost are among the easiest openings you will get.

When it was not worth it

If the hour barely beat an ordinary evening, more women saw you and moved on. That points to the page, not the timing. Fix the first picture and the words, wait a couple of weeks, then try again after a quiet stretch.
