Sometimes, but you cannot count on it. Hinge says a woman from Standouts may occasionally appear in your Discover feed on a later day, and it says just as clearly that this may not happen. If you want her, decide while she is still on your screen.
What Hinge actually says
Hinge's page on Standouts makes three points about this, and each one matters.
Some Standouts may later appear in Discover. That part is real, and it is where the idea of waiting for a free like comes from.
It may not happen. Hinge makes that point twice on the same page, and it adds a line telling you not to wait too long if someone catches your eye.
And the women in Standouts are receiving a lot of attention, so Hinge says they may no longer be looking for a match. Even if she does reach your Discover feed later, she may have stopped looking by then.
Put together, that is Hinge telling you the free route is a long shot.
How the two feeds are described
Hinge describes its two feeds in different terms. Standouts is a list of people receiving a lot of attention who still meet your preferences. Discover is built on mutual interest: the people you see there fit your preferences, and you fit theirs.
They are separate feeds with separate descriptions, and Hinge makes no promise that a woman shown in one will be shown in the other. Planning around a crossover is planning around something the app itself calls uncertain.
Timing works against you too. Standouts brings in a new batch every day, and the Next Refresh timer shows how long you have with the current set. A woman you meant to come back to can be gone by tomorrow.
You cannot go looking for her
Men sometimes plan to find her again later. That plan does not work on Hinge.
Hinge says it does not offer a search option for specific people. If you skip her, you can only undo your most recent skip, within the undo allowance your plan gives you. And Hinge says it is unable to bring back skipped people by hand, whether in Discover, Standouts or Likes You.
So once she rolls off Standouts or you pass on her, getting her back is out of your hands.
The better question is whether she is worth a Rose today
In Standouts you can only send Roses. Hinge says a Rose moves you to the top of her Likes You, and its subscriber page says Roses show up with a Rose icon, so she knows you sent one.
Members get a free Rose from Hinge on a regular schedule, and an unused one does not carry over. That makes the free one use it or lose it. If the woman in front of you is the one you would most like to take out, she is exactly who the free Rose is for.
If she is only somewhat interesting, let her go. Discover will show you plenty of women who are easier to reach and just as likely to become a date.
What to send with a Rose
Add a comment. Hinge calls it optional, but a Rose on its own tells her nothing except that you are keen. Hinge's own pages say adding a comment makes a like more likely to get a response.
Look for the one detail on her page that other men will skip past. A strange hobby, a place you recognize, a strong opinion in one of her answers. Ask about it in a sentence, or guess at the story behind it. A guess gives her something to correct, and correcting you is an easy way for her to start talking.
Keep it short and keep it light. A long message to a woman with a full list reads like an application.
If she does turn up in Discover
Sometimes she will. Treat it as a second chance and send a like with a comment.
In Discover you can send an ordinary like, or a Rose if you want to be first in her list. Hinge says that after you send a like, she disappears from your Discover feed until she responds. It also says you cannot see the people you have liked or commented on until they choose to match with you. Send it once, make the comment good, and get on with your week.
The larger point is about where your effort goes. A Standout you are hoping to see again is a woman you have not contacted. The women you actually send likes and comments to are the only ones who can say yes, so spend your attention on them.
