If You Don’t Like Them, They Can Tell
Women do not need you to be perfect. They do need you to be genuinely interested. There’s a huge difference between “I want a girlfriend” and “I enjoy talking to this person.”
If you’re only approaching women because you’re lonely, horny, or trying to prove something, that energy leaks out. You ask the right questions, but your eyes are elsewhere. You listen just long enough to respond, not to understand. She feels like an interview subject, not a human being.
A simple test: when a date is going well, are you curious about her life, or are you mainly checking whether she likes you? If it’s mostly the second one, your attention is in the wrong place.
Real Interest Is More Attractive Than Good Lines
Most guys think attraction comes from saying the perfect thing. It doesn’t. It comes from making the other person feel seen.
That means asking follow-up questions that actually go somewhere. If she says she works in nursing, don’t jump straight to “that’s cool.” Ask what part of it is hardest, or what surprised her most. If she says she likes painting, don’t ask, “Oh, like Picasso?” unless you want the conversation to die quietly on the spot.
Real interest also changes your body language. You stop performing. You make eye contact because you’re engaged, not because some dating video told you to. You smile when something lands. You let pauses happen without panicking.
Example: A fake-interested guy says, “So what do you do for fun?” then waits to deliver his own story. A genuinely interested guy says, “What do you do when you’re not working?” and actually listens long enough to ask, “How did you get into that?”
That difference is obvious.
Liking Women Means Liking Their Actual Lives
A lot of men say they like women, but only the polished version of women. They want beauty, warmth, sex appeal, and a little admiration sprinkled on top. What they don’t always like is the full package: opinions, boundaries, weird hobbies, bad moods, ambition, emotional complexity.
If you only enjoy women who are effortless, agreeable, and available, you don’t really like women. You like a fantasy that happens to wear lipstick.
Start paying attention to the parts of her life that make her a real person. Her job. Her friendships. What she cares about. What annoys her. What she’s proud of. The more specific the person becomes, the more your interest becomes real.
Example: If she loves training for marathons, don’t dismiss it because you’d rather lift weights. Ask what keeps her going. If she’s into astrology or home baking or obscure documentaries, you don’t have to fake being into it, but you do have to respect that it matters to her.
That respect is attractive. Contempt is not. And women can smell contempt from five miles away.
Stop Treating Women Like a Performance Review
A lot of men go into dates like they’re being graded. They try to sound impressive, avoid awkwardness at all costs, and constantly monitor how they’re coming across. That mindset makes everything stiff.
When you actually like women, you get less focused on winning and more focused on connecting. You can be a little playful, a little imperfect, and much more present. You don’t need every conversation to prove your value.
This also makes rejection easier to handle. If you liked the person, then a no is just a no. It’s not a verdict on your worth. And if you didn’t actually like her, then why were you so desperate for her approval in the first place?
Try this on a date: instead of asking yourself, “Does she like me?” ask, “Do I even like her?” That one question clears up a lot of confusion. A surprising number of bad dates turn out to be men chasing validation from women they wouldn’t choose if nobody was watching.
Being Nice Isn’t the Same as Being Interested
Some men think liking women means being extra nice, overly accommodating, or afraid to disagree. That’s not liking them. That’s managing their reaction.
Real liking includes honesty. If you have a different opinion, say it normally. If something doesn’t work for you, say that too. You can be respectful without being spineless.
Example: If she suggests a restaurant you hate, don’t pretend you love it to seem easygoing. Say, “I’m not a sushi person, but I’d be into Italian or Mexican.” That’s not hard to say, and it shows you’re a person with preferences.
Another example: if a woman is funny but a little dry, don’t force laughter at everything she says. You’re not applying for a customer service job in her kingdom. Real interest allows for differences. It doesn’t require worship.
This matters because women are not looking for a mirror. They’re looking for a man who can meet them as an equal.
The Best Dating Mindset Is Simple
If you want better results with women, stop trying to manipulate attraction and start becoming someone who genuinely enjoys women as people.
That means you’re not just attracted to the body in front of you. You’re interested in the mind attached to it. You want to know what makes her laugh, what she’s building, what she fears, what she loves, and whether you actually enjoy her company.
That kind of interest can’t be faked for long. Good. It shouldn’t be.
