Yes. Bumble's own blog says that when you use Extend, the other person receives a notification that you used your daily Extend on her. The same blog says the notification also shows her you are eager to get the conversation going. An Extend is not a silent favor, so use it as if she will see it.

What Bumble says she sees

The blog's wording is plain. She is told you spent your Extend on her, and Bumble presents that as a signal of interest.

When the roles flip and a match extends you, you can see it too. Bumble says their photo shows with a green ring instead of a yellow one, and the ring reflects the updated time you have left to start a conversation. She gets the same cue about you.

How the Extend itself works

Bumble's help center says to tap the member's photo, the grey circle, from your match queue and select Extend. That gives the match an extra 72 hours.

Everyone gets one free Extend each day. Boost, Premium and Premium+ members can extend as many matches as they like. Free users have to pick one match a day, which is a reason to pick on purpose.

Is looking eager a problem?

Once, no. A woman who sees that you spent your one daily Extend on her learns you are interested. Most men are not that clear in their opening messages anyway.

The trouble starts when eagerness is all you show. a dating coach says that sending a rose or a super like brings your interest to her attention, and that it costs you a little power. You have to make it back with better messaging afterward. An Extend works the same way. She gets a ping that says you like her, and if nothing good follows, she has nothing to respond to.

So the notification is only worth sending if a decent message follows it right away.

When an Extend makes sense

Use it when the timer is the only obstacle. You matched on a bad day, you will write tonight, and you do not want a woman you liked to expire while you were stuck at work.

Write the message first or straight after. Do not extend and then drift for three more days, because you have used up an Extend and have nothing to show for it.

If you are using it because you cannot think of what to say, the extra 72 hours will not help. Spend two minutes on her page instead. Pick one detail that is not her first photo and write one playful line about it.

When it does not

Do not use Extend to nudge a woman who has already gone quiet. Bumble does not show read receipts, so you do not know whether she saw your message. An Extend sends her a second notification about you, and a second nudge from a man she has not answered reads as pressure.

Do not extend match after match either. If you are extending a pile of matches you have not written to, the problem is not time. You are collecting matches you are not sure about. Pick the two or three you would genuinely like to meet and let the rest go.

Paying for more Extends does not change this. Unlimited Extends just mean more pings for her phone. A ping is not an opening line.

Make her notification worth getting

If she is going to see that you extended, make what she opens next good. Keep it short and about her. Ask one easy question that comes from something on her page, such as the trip she mentioned or the dog in her third photo.

Then move it along. After a few real exchanges, suggest a specific place and a specific evening. The Extend bought you time. The plan is what the time was for.
