You can learn what to do from a book or a video. You cannot learn to do it that way. Approaching a woman is a physical and social skill, and skills come from repetition with feedback. A book gets you ready to start. It does not replace the walking over.

Men type this as "books on how to approach women" and "how to approach women book". If you are after titles, read Best Books on Approaching Women. This article answers the question under the question: how far can reading take you, and what comes next?

What a book is good for

A book gives you a map. It names the parts of an approach, explains why they matter and gives you words for what you feel. For a man who has never done this, that has real value.

A good book also gets you moving. Some men read one chapter, feel a spark and go out the same week. If that is you, the book did its job.

Books are cheap and you can reread them. They are the lowest-cost way to learn the basics, and a man who reads one carefully starts ahead of one who never did.

What a video adds

Video shows you what print cannot: tone, pace, distance and body language. a dating coach's day game videos show real approaches on camera, so you can hear how an opener sounds and watch how a woman reacts.

That is a big step up from a page. You see the speed of the walk and the length of the pause. You can pause and replay.

Where both stop

Neither can watch you.

You can understand an opener perfectly and still lock up when a woman is three feet away. You can watch fifty videos and not know that you stand too close or that your voice drops when you are nervous. You cannot see those things from the inside.

a dating coach puts the problem in a comparison to sports: watching someone play a sport on television does nothing for you. You have to practice the moves until they are second nature.

He also names the number one reason men are slow. They spend years watching videos, reading forums and taking in theory, and they do not go out. A stack of books can turn into a hobby that feels like progress and produces none.

A test for yourself

Ask how many women you spoke to last month. If the answer is almost none, then more reading is not what is missing. A man with the information and no reps needs reps.

A second question: have you improved since you started reading? If you have been going out and have stalled, feedback is what is missing.

How to use a book well

Read with a pen. After each chapter, write down one action you can take today, and do it within two days. That could be saying hello to a stranger or asking a woman for a recommendation.

Count conversations, not results. Stop reading as soon as you have the basics, and go out. You will learn more from one afternoon of approaches than from another book.

What actually builds the skill

Three things build it, in this order: real approaches, a count you keep, and feedback from someone who watched.

A coach in the field supplies the third. He sees your approach, tells you what he saw and has you try again. That loop, repeated many times, is what a book cannot give you. For the full order, see What Is the Best Way to Learn How to Approach Women?.

Where a Bootcamp fits

A Cold Approach Bootcamp is the in-person version of that loop. Each training day is two four-hour blocks in the field, in Miami or New York, with daygame and nightgame mixed to suit you. A coach is beside you for every approach and reviews each set afterward.

Group runs three consecutive days with three students per coach at most. Private is fully one-on-one for one, two or three days. No experience is required, and a total beginner is welcome in either. You leave with a written practice plan and access to the community Slack.
