Talk before clothes come off
Good sex starts before sex. Ask what she likes, what she does not like, and what would make her feel safe.
Keep it simple:
“Do you like slow pressure or firm pressure?”
“Do you want me to stay close, or give you more room to move?”
These questions do not kill the mood. They give you useful information. You stop guessing, and she gets a clear chance to guide you.
Talk about birth control and STI testing before sex too. Use a condom if either of you wants one. Put it within reach before you start, so you do not have to leave the room and break the mood.
Consent also stays active during sex. If she pulls away, gets quiet, or moves your hand, slow down and ask, “Is this still good?” Then listen to her answer.
Start slow enough to notice her body
Do not rush into hard, fast movement. Start with your chest against hers, your hands on her waist, and slow strokes.
Watch her face, legs, hips, and breath. If her hips move toward you, that can mean she wants more of the same. If her body gets tense or she stops moving, slow down and check in.
A slow start gives both of you time to settle into the position. It also gives you more control later. You can build speed after you know what makes her body respond.
Try this:
- Kiss her for a while.
- Move your hips in short, slow strokes.
- Pause for a breath.
- Ask, “Do you want more pressure or more speed?”
You do not need to fill every second with movement. A short pause can make the next stroke feel stronger.
Change the angle with a pillow
A pillow under her hips can change the angle of penetration. Use one firm pillow, not a stack that makes her neck or back bend in a strange way.
Place it under her lower back or hips. Then start slow and ask how the angle feels.
You can also have her place her legs around your hips. She can keep them low, raise them, or rest her calves on your shoulders if that feels good and comfortable. Do not force her legs into a deep stretch.
Small changes matter. Moving your knees closer to her hips can give you more control. Moving your body higher can change the pressure. Try one change at a time so you know which one she likes.
Use your hands with a clear goal
Many men focus only on penetration. Her clitoris may need direct touch to help her reach orgasm, so use your hand while you move.
Ask where she wants your hand. She may want light circles, steady pressure, or no touch there at all. Start with less pressure than you think you need. You can add more if she asks for it.
Keep your hand steady once you find a speed and pressure she likes. Do not switch every few seconds because you think a new move must be better.
You can also hold her hip, touch her breast, or run your fingers along her neck. Ask before squeezing hard or touching areas she has not invited you to touch.
The best hand movement is often the one you can keep doing without getting tired or distracted.
Let her control the pace
Missionary does not mean you do all the movement. She can move her hips while you stay still, or she can press her body against yours to set the pace.
Tell her, “Move the way that feels best to you.”
Then follow her rhythm. Do not push her hips down or speed her up unless she asks. Your job may be to stay close, keep a steady angle, and let her body lead.
You can also shift into a more equal rhythm. Match her hips instead of taking over. This can make the position feel less like a performance and more like something you are doing together.
Use your upper body
Your chest, arms, and hands can add a lot to missionary. Lower your chest onto hers if she likes close contact. Kiss her neck, shoulder, or mouth. Look at her when she wants eye contact.
You can hold her hand above the pillow. You can place your forearms beside her shoulders. You can keep your weight on your knees and hands if she does not like much body weight on her.
Ask, “Is my weight okay?”
If she says yes, stay aware of her breathing. Do not press your full weight onto her ribs. Keep enough strength in your arms to give her room to breathe and move.
Change speed without losing the rhythm
Fast movement is not always better. A few slow strokes mixed with short, firm strokes can create more sensation than one speed for the whole time.
The key is to change speed with care. If she is close to orgasm, ask before making a big change. Many women lose the build-up when a partner suddenly stops or changes pressure.
Try a simple shift:
“Tell me if you want me to keep this pace.”
Then keep the same pace until she gives you a clear reason to change. If she says, “Do not stop,” believe her.
Add words that fit the moment
You do not need a speech. Use short words that show desire and keep her involved.
“You feel good.”
“I like watching you move.”
“Do you want more?”
Say these in a low voice and then give her time to answer. Do not talk over her sounds or ask so many questions that she has to manage the whole scene.
Dirty talk should match the trust between you. If you have not talked that way before, start mild. You can ask, “Do you like hearing me talk to you?” Her answer tells you where to go.
Stay close after orgasm
Do not roll away the second sex ends. Keep your hand on her back or hold her for a few breaths. Ask how she feels.
If she did not orgasm, do not act like the sex failed. She may still have enjoyed the closeness, the touch, or the release. You can ask what felt best and what she would change next time.
If she wants more touch, keep going in a gentle way. If she wants quiet, give her quiet. Put water nearby and deal with the condom without making her handle everything.
Missionary gets much better when you stop treating it like a fixed position. Move the pillow. Change the angle. Use your hands. Let her set the pace. Stay close enough to hear what her body and words are telling you.
